1st Annual Karl Mecklenburg Celebrity Golf Classic

What could be better than a round of golf with Broncos' former 6-time All-Pro Linebacker Karl Mecklenburg and his celebrity guests at Arrowhead Golf Club? When that round of golf benefits an organization dedicated to changing the lives of at-risk Denver-area children.

On July 10th, Karl Mecklenburg's REACH Foundation held its Inaugural Celebrity Golf Classic. The beautiful Arrowhead Golf Club played host and provided a wonderful setting for this year's event. The outing did not disappoint and quickly made its' mark as one of Denver's top celebrity golf events.

The Shamble format and the opportunity to play with celebrity guests like Karl, former Steelers All-Pro Linebacker Kevin Greene, Le-Lo Lang, Tyrone Braxton, Mike Horan and many others attracted a great crowd of golfers.

On top of the excitement of golfing with celebrities, each golfer was provided over $100 in items from the "Ultimate Golf Pro-Shop" featuring the hottest items from Nike Golf, Adidas Golf and TaylorMade, as well as a beautiful way to display their experience in the form of a commemorative frame featuring a picture of their team and their celebrity. In addition to enjoying a great day of golf, each golfer had their fill with on-course food and drink from Coca-Cola, Johnny Carino's, Dreyers Ice Cream, P.F. Changs and 240 Union.

Every successful event includes prizes and at the conclusion of the Classic, prizes were awarded to the team with the lowest score. For their talents and efforts each member of the First Place team received a Nike Golf Extreme Light Golf Bag. A dozen Nike ONE golf balls were awarded to the winners of the Most Accurate Drive, Longest Putt, Longest Drive and Closest to the Hole competitions; The REACH Foundation looks forward to holding another successful Celebrity Golf Classic in 2008 and hopes to see you there!
